How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Hoover’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 17, 2026. We added Biscuit Belly, Edgar’s Bakery, First Watch and O’Henry’s Coffees because their own sites give Hoover addresses, and Krispy Kreme and Shipley Do-Nuts from our dessert list. We left out Daysol Coffee, whose site lists only its Helena and Birmingham shops; Customs Cafe, whose site did not load; Dream Cakes Cafe and Ragtime Cafe, which we could not confirm through a website or a second record; and Starbucks, whose store pages did not load for us. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
